Terms-$12 for second year. This lad is getting along very well, and should receive a useful training here, as the Dunlops are industrious people. He has grown considerably since I last saw him. The family appear to be much attached to him.

On March 2, 1916, at North Bay, Ontario, Canada, Walter Dogue, 28, enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces. He declared that he resided at Swastika, Ontario, Canada; that he was born in London, England; that his next of kin was his brother, Harry Dogue, who resided at Dawson City, Yukon, Alaska, USA; that his date of birth was December 25, 1890; that he was a miner; that he was not married; and that he had previously served in the 97th Regiment. He was described as 5 foot 4-1/2 inches in height; fair complexion; brown eyes; brown hair. He was a member of the Church of England.

On September 28, 1918, near Sains-les-Marquion, France, Sapper Walter Dogue, of the 2nd Battalion, Canadian Engineers, died of wounds received while engaged in the investigation of some dugouts. A comrade gave him first aid and with teh help of some German prisoners, carried him on a stretcher to a dressing station on the bank of the Canal du Nord, but he died the following day. He is buried at the Ontario British Cemetery, 6-1/2 miles West of Cambrai, France.
